to pay or not to pay.....

So what about the upstanding citizen that decided he was not gonna pay his Fire Department (Protection) Dues of $75 in west Tennessee???

Check here for the story from the Montgomery Advertiser!!
http://www.montgomeryadvertiser.com/article/20101005/NEWS/101005018/Firefighters+let+house+burn+to+ground++owner+didn+t+pay+fee

As a member of a Volunteer Fire Department, I find it difficult to NOT put someones house out when it is on fire in front of me... I know it was hard for those FF's to just stand there and watch it burn.

Even with Burkville VFD, we do collect dues annually of $25. Do most people pay? NOPE! Do we still put their house out or respond to their medical call? YES, of course we do it's our job!

But the real question is, if i wrecked my truck or a tornado destroyed my house is ALFA gonna fix or do anything about either one of my issues if i have lapsed my coverage and just decided not to pay it... Heck no! The only thing I might get is the words "good luck" from my agent! This guy made a mistake and now he is facing his consequences...

Moral is, pay for the protection if you expect it! Or better yet, if you want a better Fire Department, don't sit around and talk about how you don't like the one you have, do something about it. Help out!!!! It's not gonna kill you!

Nightdreams about Night things....

Have you ever had a dream and it is so detailed and so intense that your body is exhausted and you are awakened due to it??? It happened to me last night, and NO it was not one of those dreams....! It was actually a memory from Octobers past...

For 7 years starting back around year 1999 or so me and several of my friends worked the awesomely infamous Deatsville Trail of Terror (Haunted Hayride). We had a blast and put on some of the best scenes in the tri-county area and yes I am including SMCA's Hayride (which is was no little kiddy ride). Our scenes were more about shock and wow rather than scary (Burn the Flame!!!). Heck we even had many people clap, cheer, bow, shout to see it again! We did everything custom to meet our needs for the theme of the year from Mask to soundtracks to everything in between. It was different theme for each year, must say we freaking rocked!! But enough gloting about how creative of a shock and wow machine we were...

My dream was of this years hayride, even knowing there wasn't going to be one, my mind as I slept, did not believe it. I dreamt of everything from the scene layout, lighting, what sound effects could be used, costumes, the number of people that it would take to run the scene, and even down to what people I felt it was best to fit into what roles. I even had conversations with several of these people and got thier input. I said the dream was detailed, dang it, I meant it! I was exhausted at 4am this morning but was smiling thinking of all the crazy things that went on at the hayride... The stories I could tell, but wont.... HAHAHAHA

Moral is, dream the dream as long as it's worth it!

God Bless and Much Love....

Death by Dr. Pepper

"I'm a Pepper too!" that statement says so much for the life I live. I think the life is more like an addiction to Dr. Pepper products (Diet or Regular). But i guess everyone has an addiction, ranging from smoking, drugs, cursing, and the mess of other addictions. Should we control our addictions in life? Sure we should, I keep mine "controlled" as in constant! HAHAHAHA

What's that smell...

Is it Teenspirit, is it Old Spice, Is it Charlie? I think not... It is the smell of someone covering up something they did in their cubical as it spreads around entire office! Nothing screams "I just farted" like the smell of an over zealous garden of potpourri.... I thought my head hurt earlier!!!! Yeah right after about 5 sprays of this stuff and the user being sick with a stopped up nose, me and my fellow co-workers are dying! I say dying, my head is pounding, my clothes reek of a floral shoppe on steroids, but I think we will survive to the breathe fresh air another day... This stuff is making the tar smell from the new roof being put in smell lovely.

Now understand that I appreciate a good smell like; fresh cut lawn, my lover, and homemade cookies. I guess the moral of the story is that always hope that next time you have to endure the potpourri of the Titans that the person who sprayed it will be here the rest of the day to "enjoy" it with the rest instead of taking off the rest of the day!!!

Dang Headaches

I don't like to use the "M" word as it seems to trigger them at times. I have been all doped up on painmeds for about 2-3 weeks now and it's getting a little old, so i figured i would try something new or rather different. So today at lunch i went and got a messagge. Well i do feel some better but better yet i was told how tense i was and how i needed to learn better posture! Awesome!!! She told me that, these could be the reason to my headaches that the streaches and better posture practices sure couldn't hurt me... Besides when i do them!

The moral of the story is never be afraid to try something different to relieve stress or rather pain in your life! Sometimes it's gotta do some good!

Oh weekend where did you go????....

After a nice weekend of Football, Church, Meetings, Family, and Youth it is back to work at the DOT... Last week was spent in class learning about IBM XIV units and TS7720 (Virtual Tape), this is part of the $10 million that the state spent between DOT and ISD for a more reliable Disaster Recovery system. This was a ton of information shoved into our brains in a very short period of time by a less than desirable instructor.

I learned a great deal from this instructor, about how uncool it is to not answer someones question, to skirt the issue. Just because you don't know the answer doesn't mean that you should not respond to the student! Just simple be realistic and say "I don't know but I will check into it and let you know!", how simple is that???!

Then there was the church business meeting... First I knew I had to spend some time with my youth on the flag football field behind the church, gotta get in that exercises! Plus I thought that if i had a little bit of an odor the members of the church might not wanna keep me long in the meeting and would send me back to the field. (How awful of me, but I hate business meetings!!) My main objective was to get in and out of the meeting in a hurry and convey my future plans to the church of my desire to go back to school. And it partially worked! Not even a question about what I wanted to go back to school for... Do they not care or do they simply trust me and are willing to go along with whatever. That's cool with me, I just wanted them to know. So back to the field I went, to play another 15 minutes with the youth. Thanks to one of my parents for overseeing this in my absence.

Like I said, it was a  good weekend, Auburn won, Lowndes won, Bamer won, and Notre Dame lost! If Ole Miss had a coach that had some better play calling they might have won, making it an even better weekend... Oh how i love these fall days of cool crisp weather... Wait? Where did that come from??

Much Love and God Bless!!

Dream after Dream

Last night as I was sleeping and I kept having dream after dream of the wierdest things, ranging from a hurt foot on the flagfootball field to this... It was like my mind could not rest, and I really don't think it did. I know it could have used the rest from all the heck I was put through in watching the Auburn/Clemson game and then hoping to see Notre Dame lose. But the one that stands out the most was this, to start a blog... I hate blogs and really only read one (John Healds, Carnival Cruise Line) and thats only on occasion, so why a blog?

It has bothered me all morning and I really think it is not me, but the Lord wanting me to do this. So here it is! Nothing fancy, nothing flashy, just a blog coming from a pretty open minded, Christian young man. I hope that I can share something with you that help you or the opposite, you sharing something that will help me.

I am not to sure where this will go from here but you can be assured we will find out....

I hope you have a great day, Much Love and God Bless!
